State Conventions

There are three state conventions held every year, one in each trimester. Members of every chapter in Minnesota are encouraged to attend the statewide convention. Conventions can be a tremendous gathering, offering unique resources and opportunities to members. Convention activities include a state business meeting, guest speakers, informative forums, banquets, awards, and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a party! Conventions are also a great way to network with Women of Today members from other chapters, make new friends, get new ideas, and find out what is going on in other communities throughout the state.

Each trimester’s state convention has a slightly different flow to it, but ultimately, each of them leave members feeling inspired and fired up to do more in their local communities.

Fall state convention is held in September during our first trimester. Locations vary as different chapters request to host the event. The unique feature of the fall convention is the Project Fair, held on Friday night. The Project Fair is where members can learn about the different areas of MNWT and the goals that have been for each area for the year.

Winter state convention is the second trimester convention and is held in January. The location is consistently at the DoubleTree Hotel in St. Louis Park and is hosted by the state staff. The unique feature of the winter convention is the Saturday night banquet, when recipients of the statewide awards for Outstanding Young Adult, Outstanding Person with Developmental Challenges, and Women Who Impact are honored. Recipients of these awards are also invited to have their families in attendance at the banquet as well.

Annual convention is the year-end convention, held in May each year. The locations vary based on what chapter has been chosen to host the banquet. The unique feature of the annual convention is the election of the next year’s officers. The banquet on Saturday night is also filled with lots and lots of awards as we close out the current year.
